Ocean Beach and Point Loma are having a garage sale — together

Ocean Beach and Point Loma are running one community garage sale on the same morning — one date, one map, twice the driveways to browse.

Anyone who lives in Ocean Beach or Point Loma — including Sunset Cliffs and Loma Portal — can take part. Sell from your driveway, your garage, or your front yard. There's no fee and no permit.

Register your address and we'll add it to the map shoppers follow on their phones that morning, plus the printed map available at pickup.

Your exact address won't be given out. The public map only shows the block or alley — for example, 4568 Newport Ave would appear as “Block of 4500 Newport Ave” (or “Alley of 4500 Newport Ave” for alley sales). Your email is only used for this event. Registration closes Monday, October 19.

Do I have to live in Ocean Beach or Point Loma?+

Yes — anywhere in Ocean Beach (92107) or Point Loma (92106), including Sunset Cliffs and Loma Portal. Near the line and not sure? Register anyway and we'll sort it out.

Is there a fee?+

No. Registering is free and taking part is free.

What if I register and then can't do it?+

Email us before Monday, October 19 and we'll take your address off the map. After that the maps are already printed.

Do I need a permit?+

No. The City of San Diego allows residential garage sales without a permit. Keep tables and racks on your own property and leave the sidewalk clear.

Can I share a sale with my neighbor?+

Yes, and it works well. Register the address where the sale will actually be so shoppers come to the right driveway.

What time do shoppers turn up?+

Some people may be circling by 7:30; however, the shopping maps state the sales start at 8:00 AM. Be ready by 8:00 if you can.

What do I do with what doesn't sell?+

We'll send a list of donation and haul-away options a couple of days after the sale — Goodwill, local thrift shops and haulers.
